| It's over. Like for real this time. Not a break, but over. For good. I hurt. But I'll be OK. I'm always OK. I've been through worse. (I mean, check my archives from mid-October last year).
I don't have anything else to say. I just didn't want to have to do the awkward thing, when you ask "How's Ricardo?" and I have to say "We broke up," and you feel bad. So there it is. Ask me if you want to know more. I won't think you're intruding or whatever.
| my weekend was just about
perfect. and now it's sadly over and i have to go back into the world of work
and school and sleeping alone.
since i scheduled all my classes
tuesday-thursday, my weekends are really long (though they usually involve
working a lot). so this weekend began thursday afternoon, since shaun was so
nice and worked for me at the Texan. Claire and I cleaned the hell out of the
apartment thursday, and it was glorious. i spent a good hour (at least) cleaning
my bathroom until it was spotless. I have since made everyone who came
over look at it. Thursday night Ricardo came over :)
i hadn't seen him in a month (a long month — five weeks). a very
long, trying month. We stayed up so late just hanging out watching TiVo'd
futurama.
on friday, Ricardo went to ACL and my parents came to see me
for my birthday. we went to lunch and then i got really sick again. my vomiting
spells have been coming back lately (i went to the hospital three weeks ago
because of it). so i got really sick to my stomach for a few hours, but then i
got better. i sipped sprite through a bendy straw and my birthday dinner became
pizza hut. everyone ate and i sipped sprite. i got presents, too. a queen bed
with new bedding (so pretty), grey's anatomy seasons 1 and 2 DVDs, some clinique
stuff and a necklace (from Tiffany's...)
Saturday was by far the
highlight of the weekend. My stomach was totally better and Ricardo and I went
to ACL fest. we saw the Raconteurs (Jack White's band), which was a really good
show, and willie nelson, which was really fun. most of what made saturday so
great just sounds lame typed out on lj, so you'll just have to trust me on that
one. sundah, we hung out at the apartment for a while and went to ACL later for
the flaming lips (great show) and g. love. we were pretty tired and it started
raining, so we skipped out on tom petty. some Texan kids came over to hang out
with ricardo before he left this morning. it was fun and it really made ricardo
happy to get to see all his friends over the weekend. i wish i could've had more
time with him just the two of us, but it was so worth it to see him so
happy.
he went back to houston this morning. i might get to see him again
in three weeks.
i have to go back to work in a couple hours, and school
tomorrow. i'm behind in my reading and i have a government test next week (but
that shouldn't be too bad, i hope). Maybe I'll find time to get more sleep.
Jimmie says I need to nap. Tonight, I'm working 'til 2 a.m. and my busy Tuesday
begins with an 8 a.m. class.
| So I'm sitting in the basement, reading the paper and I see something out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was a cricket, but I turned my head to look and there was a mouse scurrying across the floor. And like the lady that I am, I screeched "Holy fuck! There's a mouse!" and jumped onto the couch I was sitting on. People stared at me and I said "There was a mouse!" and climbed up on the arm of the couch, with my hand on my heart (which was racing). Zach, the daddy of the Texan, is calling University pest control or something to get traps.
In conclusion, I am a girly girly-girl.
| among the things stressing me out right now:- add/drops.
i have to drop all but one of my classes and add into new ones in the
two days before school starts so that my class schedule will work with
my texan schedule.
- two of the three classes i want/need to add
are closed. this means i sit in front of my computer waiting for
someone to drop them. this has worked for me once in the past, but what
are the chances?
- i like to buy books early so i can get the
used ones that are still in OK shape. how do i do this when i have no
clue what classes i'll actually end up taking?
- money! i got all
excited about having my own room and bought new stuff for it (including
a TV i'm getting off craigslist) and i'm so effing broke. luckily i'll
be working more at Main Event, so that should help.
- getting to talk to ricardo once maybe every three days. ick.
- they're still working on my shower. i want it back!
so
there are some good things, too. claire and i are going to visit a
kitty today that i might adopt. she's a calico with green eyes and her
name is Brie. claire's going to get a kitten, too. and tomorrow i'm
going to pick up some cheap litter and a litter box courtesy of craigslist.
| i actually got to talk to ricardo today instead of just his voicemail. that was nice. he had his FBI orientation Monday. when i asked him about it, he basically said "they told us who we're working with and gave me a bunch of security codes... and that's about all i can tell you." oh, FBI.
the guys came to start fixing my shower yesterday. a wall is missing today. by the end of the week i should have a freshly tiled shower that will be mildew free since they fixed the air conditioner drip in there, too. yay clean shower.
pretty much all i've been doing lately is working. about 30 hours this week and almost 40 next week at main event. the great thing about main event is that i actually get an hourly wage. i'm making decent money and it's so helpful. yes, i have to stand for 10 hours at a time, but i get $70-ish for doing it (depending on the tip share).
